A plein air painting done in the rustic hamlet of Inlet, NY, in the Adirondack Park. I have spent time in the Adirondack mountains every summer of my life. The smell of pine, breathing in the crisp air, hiking the trails up steep mountains, swimming in the cool lake waters all fill my soul with joy. My plein air paintings are done on site where I can feel, smell and take in my surroundings. I believe all of this effects the way the painting turns out. I love the tall pines and distinctly Adirondack-style house sitting by the lake in this view I chose. It brings back so many fond memories.
